The NHRA Medical Value Chain (NHRA-MVC) Traceability Hub

is an end-to-end track and trace application and data repository platform for all pharmaceutical products within Bahrain. It provides real-time transparency, accountability, and verification, to serve public health and safety needs and fulfills the following:

Submission of information to the NHRA-MVC Traceability Hub allows vendors to effectively provide traceability and serialization information to help in the following areas:

  • Increase patient safety.
  • Reduce medication errors.
  • Detect counterfeits.
  • Ensure traceability and fast product recalls and withdrawals.
  • Ensure accurate, real-time information flow among stakeholders.

Vision

Our Vision at the NHRA for the NHRA-MVC program is to provide full traceability of products, from manufacturing to dispensing, enabling safe, high quality pharmaceutical products to be delivered throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Strategic Goal

Traceability of all pharmaceutical products manufactured, distributed, and dispensed within the Kingdom of Bahrain through the use of GS1 Best Practices and Guidelines.

The NHRA-MVC administrative team has the necessary experience and knowledge working with all aspects of the Bahrain pharmaceutical supply chain to enable NHRA to be compliant with the Supreme Council of Health’s published Legislative Decree No. 41 of 2017 regulation “Issuing a Track and Trace System for the Supply Chain of Medicine within the Kingdom of Bahrain”.
